We started shooting around 5 p.m.—a time when the sun still blazed with intensity. The heat was undeniable and the lighting quite harsh at first, making it a challenge to find the right balance. But as the sun softened and began its slow descent, everything began to shift. The rocks glowed with a golden hue, the shadows stretched longer, and the entire space opened up as a canvas for the story we were creating.
Lucy was a joy to work with—professional, patient, and deeply photogenic. She carried a quiet confidence that allowed her character to shine through each frame. The outfit she wore, a boldly patterned wrap dress with earth tones and tribal-inspired prints, matched the rugged beauty of Majjistral's limestone cliffs and sun-drenched flora. The colours in the dress—warm reds, ochres, greens—mirrored the surrounding landscape and elevated the shoot with an organic cohesion that couldn’t have been better planned.
What made this shoot special wasn’t just the setting or the technical details—it was the harmony between Lucy’s style and the soul of the location. Her look, with subtle braids, delicate piercings, and statement earrings, felt both rooted and free-spirited. It echoed the wild, untouched essence of Majjistral.
This session reminded me how rewarding it is to shoot when the environment, the light, and the model are in sync.
Despite the rocky start and the heat, everything came together beautifully. Sometimes, all it takes is patience and the right person in front of the lens.
