Finally, it is here: a project I have been working on for the past two years — my own book.

I might sound a little trumpety, but I am. I am proud of this because it is a feat I never would have imagined embarking on years ago.

It all started with a wish to leave my ideas and some of the things I have learnt in life to my kids for when they grow older, and perhaps when I am no longer around. Eventually, I decided that I would share this book with you as well.

So, I present to you Memento Mori.

Memento Mori is the first book in a two-part journey through one man’s life, thoughts, struggles and discoveries. Covering the first half of a transformative year, it explores mortality, self-esteem, family, fear, love, purpose and the search for meaning. The journey continues in Memento Vivere — The Rest of the Journey.

But this is not simply a story about one man. It is an invitation to look at your own life.

Through personal experiences, honest reflections and questions to consider, Memento Mori encourages you to pause and examine the things that shape you: the fears that hold you back, the thoughts that sometimes overwhelm you, the relationships that matter, the choices you make and the person you are becoming.

You may see parts of yourself in these pages. You may find comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your doubts and struggles. You may also be encouraged to question old beliefs, appreciate the life you already have and take small steps towards becoming the person you want to be.

This is not a book that promises to have all the answers. It is a companion for reflection — a place to stop, think, question and perhaps see your own life from a slightly different perspective.

If you have ever wondered whether you are living the life you want, struggled with your confidence or self-esteem, felt afraid of change, or simply found yourself asking what makes a life meaningful, Memento Mori may give you something to think about.

Because sometimes, remembering that life is finite is not a reason to fear it.

It is a reason to live it more consciously.
